SMA Solar Inverter – KNX Gateway is an advanced energy management solution designed to seamlessly integrate solar energy systems into KNX-based building automation networks. It provides full compatibility with photovoltaic (PV) inverters, smart energy meters, battery storage systems, and OCPP 1.6J compliant electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The device transfers real-time data such as solar production, inverter status, battery parameters, and grid import/export values (voltage, current, power) directly to the KNX bus. This enables intelligent, data-driven energy monitoring and optimization across the entire building.
With full OCPP 1.6J support, the gateway establishes bi-directional communication with EV charging stations. Charging sessions can be started, stopped, or automatically scheduled via KNX based on solar energy availability. Dynamic load management allows HVAC systems, water heaters, and other high-power appliances to operate according to real-time energy balance.
Featuring standard DIN rail mounting, a galvanically isolated KNX interface, and high-speed TCP/IP communication via Ethernet, the gateway is a reliable and professional solution for residential and commercial energy automation projects.
